Identification of Sea Cucumber Holothuria (Lessonothuria) Pardalis (Selenka, 1867) and Holothuria (Semperothuria) Cinerascens (Brandt, 1835) (Family-Holothuriidae) based on Morphological and Mitochondrial DNA Evidence and Phylogenetic Analysis from Karachi Coast, Pakistan

چکیده
The conventional taxonomy on sea cucumbers is challenging due to their morphological complexity. Molecular investigation of the class Holothuroidea was initiated for further clarity regarding systematics and this class. A molecular phylogeny constructed by using maximum likelihood methods, unveiled variation in existing taxonomic classification, which largely based morphology calcareous parts. H. pardalis cinerascens from Pakistan identified morphologically but no information found with regard identification. This first research describing identification 16S rRNA COI genes Karachi Coast Pakistan. Comparisons mitochondrial accessioned cucumber sequences GenBank confirmed H.pardalis’ identity. study report H.pardalis rRNAand gene Coast,

Antioxidant activity of extracts of two species of Sea Cucumber Holothuria parva and Holothuria leucospilota from the Persian Gulf, Iran
Marine animals are among the most important sources of natural products with biological activities because of their secondary metabolites. Many compounds were extracted, purified, identified and studied for their antioxidant, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects from sea cucumber However, very few investigations are available on Persian Gulf sea cucumbers. The antioxidant act...
متن کاملCytoprotective Effects of Lysophospholipids from Sea Cucumber Holothuria atra
Lysophospholipids are important signaling molecules in animals and metazoan cells. They are widely distributed among marine invertebrates, where their physiological roles are unknown. Sea cucumbers produce unique lysophospholipids. In this study, two lysophospholipids were detected in Holothuria atra for the first time, lyso-platelet activating factor and lysophosphatidylcholine, with nuclear m...
متن کاملAntifungal active triterpene glycosides from sea cucumber Holothuria scabra.
To study the new antifungal active triterpene glycosides of sea cucumber Holothuria scabra. Triterpene glycosides from Holothuria scabra were separated and purified by silica gel chromatography, reversed-phase silica gel chromatography and RP-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence. Three triterpene glycosides were identified as scabraside A (1...
متن کاملBioactive sulfated saponins from sea cucumber Holothuria moebii.
The bioactive ingredients of sea cucumber Holothuria moebii were investigated, and four sulfated saponins (1-4) and one desulfated saponin (3B) with an unusual 3,4-epoxy xylose were obtained from this study. Compound 2 is a new triterpenoid saponin and 3B is a new artificial compound. On the basis of the extensive NMR and HRESIMS data, their structures were assigned as 3-O-[β-D-quinovopyranosyl...
متن کاملHemolytic and Cytotoxic Properties of Saponin Purified from Holothuria leucospilota Sea Cucumber
Background: Holothuroids (sea cucumbers) are members of the phylum echinodermata, which produce saponins. Saponins exhibit a wide spectrum of pharmacological and biological activities. In this study, we isolated the crude saponins from the body wall of the dominant Iranian species of sea cucumber, Holothuria leucospilota (H. leucospilota). The purpose of this study was to confirm the presence o...
